S&P Global Ratings has assigned its 'A' long-term rating to Lane County Unified School District No. 482 (Dighton), Kan.'s series 2019 general obligation (GO) refunding bonds. S&P Global Ratings has also affirmed its 'A' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR) on the district's previously issued GO debt. The outlook is stable. The district has experienced decreases in market values largely due to oil price decline that began in late 2014, with oil prices remaining depressed through early 2017. Although oil prices have somewhat recovered, production in the area remains low with little to no drilling activity, as indicated by the lack of rigs in Lane County.
