DALLAS (Standard&Poor's) Dec. 5, 2013--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'A' long-term rating to Lane County Unified School District No. 482 (Dighton), Kan.'s series 2013 general obligation (GO) bonds. The outlook is stable. "The rating reflects our opinion of the district's strong financial position and good wealth and income levels," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst Sarah Smaardyk. "The rating further reflects our view of the district's high debt burden, concentrated tax base, and the constraints of the state school finance system," Ms. Smaardyk added. Lane County Unified School USD No. 482 (Dighton) serves the city of Dighton, with an estimated population of 1,300, and is located 70 miles northwest of Dodge City. RELATED CRITERIA AND RESEARCH
