Standard&Poor's Ratings Services has assigned its 'A' long-term rating to Lane County Unified School District No. 482 (Dighton), Kan.'s series 2014 general obligation (GO) bonds. At the same time, we affirmed our 'A' long-term rating on the district's GO debt. The outlook on all ratings is stable. The rating reflects our opinion of the district's: Good income and strong wealth levels; and Strong financial position, albeit it, on a cash basis of accounting. In our opinion, these strengths are offset by the district's concentrated tax base, centered in oil and gas, and high debt burden on a per capita basis. An unlimited ad valorem tax on all taxable property in the district secures the bonds. Bond proceeds used
