Plenary Health Hamilton L.P. entered into an agreement with St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton to design, finance, build, and maintain a new mental health and addiction care hospital and to demolish the existing facility. The project's 36-month construction period ended in December 2013, when its 30-year operating period began. PCL Constructors Canada Inc. demolished the old hospital and built the new one under a fixed-price contract. The hospital, in Hamilton, Ont., has 305 mental health and addiction inpatient beds, in addition to mental health and medical outpatient clinics, education and research space, and areas for clinical, administrative, and facility support.
