Plenary Health Hamilton L.P. entered into an agreement with St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton to design, finance, build, and maintain a new mental health and addiction care hospital and to demolish the existing facility. The project's 36-month construction finished in December 2013, when its 30-year operating period began. PCL Constructors Canada Inc. demolished the old hospital and built the new one under a fixed-price contract. The hospital has 305 mental health and addiction inpatient beds, mental health and medical outpatient clinics, clinical support, administrative and facility support functions, and education and research space in Hamilton, Ont.
