Standard&Poor's Ratings Services raised its long-term and underlying ratings (SPUR) on Unified School District Johnson County No. 231 (Gardner-Edgerton), Kan.'s existing general obligation (GO) debt to 'AA-' from 'A+'. At the same time, Standard&Poor's assigned its 'AA-' long-term rating to the district's series 2015-A GO refunding bonds. The outlook on all ratings is stable. We base the upgrade on the district's improved cash position as a result of the district's prudent management, which has demonstrated its commitment to maintain structurally balanced operations.
