Standard&Poor's Ratings Services revised its outlook to positive from negative and affirmed its 'A+' long-term and underlying ratings (SPUR) on Johnson County Unified School District No. 231 (Gardner-Edgerton), Kan.'s existing general obligation (GO) debt. In addition, we assigned our 'A+' rating to the district's series 2013-A GO refunding and improvement bonds. The ratings reflect our opinion of the district's: Improved cash position, which is projected to continue to improve during the next several years; Access to the strong and diverse Kansas City, Mo. metropolitan area economy; Strong wealth and income levels; and Good financial management policies and practices.
