DALLAS (Standard&Poor's) April 15, 2013--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services revised its outlook to positive from negative and affirmed its 'A+' long-term and underlying ratings (SPUR) on Johnson County Unified School District No. 231 (Gardner-Edgerton), Kan.'s existing general obligation (GO) debt. In addition, we assigned our 'A+' rating to the district's series 2013-A GO refunding and improvement bonds. "The ratings reflect our opinion of the district's improved cash position, which we project will to continue to improve during the next several years," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst Sarah Smaardyk. "Additional strengths include the district's access to the strong and diverse Kansas City, Mo. metropolitan area economy, strong wealth and income levels, and good financial management policies and practices,"
