Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA-' long-term rating and stable outlook to Unified School District Johnson County No. 231 (Gardner-Edgerton), Kan.'s series 2016 general obligation (GO) refunding and improvement bonds. Standard&Poor's also affirmed its 'AA-' rating on the district's GO debt outstanding. The outlook is stable. An unlimited ad valorem property tax pledge secures the bonds. We understand that proceeds from the sale of the bonds will be used to refund a portion the district's debt outstanding for interest saving purposes and fund various capital improvements throughout the district in addition to expanding the high school.
