NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) May 13, 2016--S&P Global Ratings today assigned its 'AA (sf)' issue-level rating to American Airlines Inc.'s series 2016-2 class AA pass-through certificates (with an expected maturity date of June 15, 2028). At the same time, we assigned our 'A (sf)' issue-level rating to the company's series 2016-2 class A pass-through certificates (with an expected maturity date of June 15, 2028). The final legal maturities will be 18 months after the expected maturities. American Airlines is issuing the certificates under a Rule 415 shelf registration. These ratings are unchanged from the preliminary ratings we assigned on May 2, 2016. We base our ratings on these issues on the credit quality of American Airlines' parent, American Airlines
