NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) June 27, 2016--S&P Global Ratings today assigned its preliminary 'BBB (sf)' issue-level rating to American Airlines Inc.'s series 2016-2 class B pass-through certificates (with an expected maturity date of June 15, 2024). The final legal maturity will be 18 months after the expected maturity. The certificates are a private placement issued pursuant to Rule 144a without registration rights. We assigned ratings to American's series 2016-2 class AA and class A certificates, which are senior in rank to the class B certificates and secured by the same collateral, on May 13, 2016.
