...NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) July 5, 2016--S&P Global Ratings today raised its issue-level ratings on American Airlines Inc.'s series 2016-1 and series 2016-2 class ## pass-through certificates to '##+ (sf)' from '## (sf)'. We raised our ratings on these certificates because we have upgraded KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH, the liquidity provider supporting the certificates, and we believe that the collateral coverage can support a higher rating. The pass-through certificates are a form of enhanced equipment trust certificates, which are specialized aircraft financings that can achieve ratings well above the corporate credit rating on their airline issuer. Under our counterparty criteria, our rating on the liquidity provider supporting the certificates can limit how high we rate the certificates. Our '##-' corporate credit rating on American Airlines Inc. and its parent American Airlines Group Inc. reflect the company's good market position, comprehensive route network, and strong earnings.
