Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA+' rating and stable outlook to Nashville&Davidson County Metropolitan Government, Tenn.'s series 2014A electric system revenue bonds and series 2014B revenue refunding bonds. At the same time, we affirmed the 'AA+' rating on the system's outstanding electric system revenue bonds. The rating reflects the general creditworthiness of the consolidated government's electric system, doing business as Nashville Electric Service (NES), and includes its: Consistently strong financial metrics, maintained even through the recession, and continued steady growth; Deep and diverse customer base in the stable Nashville metropolitan area with solid income indicators; and Role as the second-largest distributor of Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) power and energy, which generally reduces operating and financial risk
