S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'AA' long-term rating to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Metro), Tenn.'s series 2021A (tax-exempt) and 2021B (taxable) general obligation (GO) refunding bonds. The outlook is stable. The 2021A and 2021B GO bonds, and Nashville's GO bonds outstanding, are secured by its full faith and credit and ability to levy ad valorem property taxes without limitation as to rate or amount. The 2021A bond proceeds will be used to current refund Metro's 2010A and 2010D GO bonds. The 2021B proceeds will be used to advance refund portions of Metro's 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015C, and 2016 GO bonds. The refunding plan achieves debt service savings with no extension of maturity.
