NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) Jan. 13, 2021--S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'AA' long-term rating to Nashville&Davidson County Metropolitan Government, Tenn.'s series 2021A electric system revenue bonds, issued for Nashville Electric Service (NES). At the same time, we affirmed our 'AA' long-term rating on the electric system's revenue debt outstanding. The outlook is stable. "The rating reflects our opinion of the system's extremely strong enterprise risk profile and strong financial risk profile," said S&P Global Ratings credit analyst Scott Sagen. NES' role as a TVA distributor greatly reduces its environmental risks, which are limited and in line with other rated electric distribution utilities.
