S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'A-1+' short-term rating on the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (Metro), Tenn.'s series 2021 general obligation (GO) commercial paper (CP) notes, with a maximum balance of $375 million. At the same time, S&P Global Ratings affirmed its 'A-1+' short-term rating on Metro's series 2017 extendible CP program, which transitioned from the series 2014 CP extendible program with a larger authorization amount. The short-term CP rating is based on Nashville's long-term general creditworthiness (AA/Stable), reflecting our view of its self-liquidity and ability to tap capital markets or other means to rollover or take out CP notes or bank notes issued under the revolving credit agreement accompanying the 2021 notes.
