Standard&Poor's Ratings Services expects DuPont's earnings to be weaker than previously anticipated following sustained challenges in the company's operating environment. As a result, we believe credit will deteriorate to levels inconsistent with current ratings. We are lowering our ratings, including our corporate credit rating to 'A-' from 'A', by one notch. The negative outlook continues to reflect our view that earnings and credit measures may be further pressured, and the ongoing risk that the company could consider a split in its business.
