...NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) Feb. 8, 2017--S&P Global Ratings said today that its ratings on The Dow Chemical Co. (###/Watch Dev/A-2) and affiliates, and on E.I. DuPont De Nemours & Co. (A-/Watch Neg/A-2) are not immediately affected by the companies' recent announcement that Dow and DuPont have submitted to the European Commission a proposed remedy package regarding the proposed merger of the two companies. The companies said they believe this submission fully addresses the commission's concerns about the proposed merger. The submission involves a planned divestment of a portion of DuPont's crop protection business and associated research and development, as well as Dow's acid copolymers business. The submission has resulted in the extension of the commission's deadline for review to April 4, 2017. The companies said they expect the merger to close in the first half of 2017.
