TOKYO (Standard&Poor's) Aug. 12, 2005--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today raised to 'A-' from 'BBB+' its long-term counterparty and long-term senior debt ratings on ORIX Corp. (ORIX), its long-term counterparty rating on ORIX Trust&Banking Corp. (ORIX Trust), and its long-term counterparty and financial strength ratings on ORIX Life Insurance Corp. (ORIX Life). The actions reflect the group's greater profit stability stemming from its strengthened customer base and risk management system. The outlooks on the long-term ratings are stable. ORIX group recorded ¥154.3 billion of income before tax in fiscal 2004 (ended March 31, 2005), a substantial increase of 51% from the previous year.
