Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'A+' rating and stable outlook to Saranac Lake Central School District, N.Y.'s series 2011 school district general obligation (GO) bonds and affirmed its 'A+' rating, with a stable outlook, on the district's existing GO debt. The rating reflects our view of the district's: Substantial property tax base with state forestland and a number of vacation properties; Limited local economic base centered on tourism and government; Stable and consistent financial position; and Low debt levels, coupled with, what we consider, low carrying charges and rapid debt amortization. The district's full-faith-and-credit pledge secures the bonds. The New York State Aid Intercept program, as stated in Section 99-b of State Finance Law, provides additional security. Officials
