S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'AA' long-term rating to Platte County R-III School District, Mo.'s $8.1 million series 2024 general obligation (GO) refunding bonds. At the same time, we affirmed our 'AA' rating on the district's existing GO debt. We also affirmed our 'AA-' rating on the district's existing leasehold revenue bonds. The outlook is stable. The series 2024 GO bonds and existing GO debt are secured by the district's unlimited-tax GO pledge. Proceeds from the series 2024 bonds will be used to refund the district's series 2016 GO bonds for interest cost savings.
