S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'AAA' long-term rating to Monmouth County, N.J.'s roughly $43.4 million series 2024 general obligation (GO) bonds. S&P Global Ratings also assigned its 'SP-1+' short-term rating to the county's roughly $84.2 million series 2024 bond anticipation notes (BANs) At the same time, S&P Global Ratings affirmed its 'AAA' long-term rating on the county's existing GO debt and county-guaranteed bonds, issued by the county and Monmouth County Improvement Authority. The outlook on the long-term rating is stable. The county's full-faith-and-credit pledge, including an agreement to levy unlimited ad valorem taxes on all taxable property within county limits, secures its GO bonds, BANs, and guaranteed bonds.
