Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AAA' long-term rating to Huntsville, Ala.'s series 2015A, series 2015B, and series 2015C general obligation (GO) warrants. At the same time, we affirmed our 'AAA' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR) on the city's previously issued GO debt. The outlook is stable. The ratings reflect our opinion of the city's: Very strong economic profile with a growing service area economy that, despite the recession, has continued to expand and is poised for additional military- and technology-related employment; Very strong management; Very strong budgetary flexibility; Very strong liquidity; Adequate budgetary performance; and Weak debt and contingent liability profile.
