Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AAA' rating to Huntsville, Ala.'s series 2013C general obligation (GO) school warrants and the city's series 2013D GO warrants. At the same time, we affirmed our 'AAA' rating on the city's existing GO debt. The outlook on all the ratings is stable. The rating reflects our recently released local GO criteria and our opinion of the city's: Very strong economic profile with a growing service area economy that, despite the recession, has continued to expand and that is poised for additional military- and technology-related employment; Very strong budget flexibility; Adequate budgetary performance; Very strong management; Very strong liquidity; and Weak debt and contingent liability profile.
