S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'A' long-term rating to Harris County Municipal Utility District (MUD) No. 188, Texas' series 2022 unlimited tax bonds ($6.3 million). At the same time, we affirmed our 'A' rating on the district's existing general obligation (GO) debt. The outlook is stable. The bonds are secured by an unlimited ad valorem property tax on all eligible property within the district's boundaries. Officials plan on using the bonds for water infrastructure improvements. The rating is supported by Harris County MUD's strong financial performance, which we expect will continue at least in the near term, and the district's growing economy.
