...S&P Global Ratings affirmed its 'A' issuer credit rating (ICR) on the Colorado School of Mines Foundation (CSM Foundation). The outlook is stable. An ICR reflects the obligor's general creditworthiness, and is not specific to a given debt issuance, because it does not consider the security or other credit and legal characteristics of a given debt issue. The CSM Foundation has no long-term debt. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and broader public health and safety risks, the CSM Foundation transitioned to remote operations in spring 2020. Management indicates it was able to do so relatively easy as it has made IT updates in recent years. In October 2020, the foundation and university publicly announced its current campaign, "The Campaign for MINES @150". The campaign has a goal to raise a total of $450 million, which includes $350 million in philanthropic support and $100 million in non-governmental research support.
