FARMERS BRANCH (S&P Global Ratings) May 28, 2021--S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'A+' rating to Greenwood County, S.C.'s series 2021 and series 2022 tax-exempt revenue refunding bonds, issued on behalf of Self Regional Healthcare (Self, or Self Regional). We also affirmed our existing 'A+' rating on the county's series 2012B and 2017 bonds, also issued for Self Regional. The outlook on all ratings is stable. "The rating reflects our view of Self's solid financial performance and excellent balance sheet, both of which have improved over the past year despite COVID-19," said S&P Global Ratings credit analyst Patrick Zagar. The rating also incorporates Self's leading business position as a referral center in its seven-county service area, serving a moderately sized population.
