NY -- Standard&Poor's CreditWire 1/21/98 -- Standard&Poor's today revised its rating outlook on Boeing Co. and McDonnell Douglas Corp. to negative from stable, and affirmed its ratings on Boeing and related entities (see table below). The rating outlook remains developing on Boeing Capital Corp. The negative outlook reflects serious economic and financial problems in the Asia-Pacific market, which are expected to lead to deferral or cancellations of airplane orders by some airlines. Most at risk are widebody aircraft, including B747s, that typically have higher profit margins.
