NY -- Standard&Poor's CreditWire 10/23/97 -- Standard&Poor's today affirmed its ratings on Boeing Co. and related entities (see table below). The outlook remains stable for Boeing Co. and McDonnell Douglas Corp., and developing for Boeing Capital Corp. Boeing announced recently that it will report a third quarter loss, due to a $1.6 billion pretax charge related to the production problems being experienced on commercial aircraft programs, with an additional $1 billion pretax charge to be taken in 1998.
