The Danish economy is wealthy, competitive, and diversified. Denmark benefits from high institutional effectiveness, mature political and institutional frameworks that promote fiscal discipline, and a modest government debt burden. We are therefore affirming our 'AAA/A-1+' ratings on Denmark. The stable outlook reflects the depth of Denmark's economic, fiscal, external, and monetary buffers. On March 17, 2017, S&P Global Ratings affirmed its 'AAA' long-term and 'A-1+' short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings on the Kingdom of Denmark. The outlook is stable. At the same time, we affirmed our 'AAA' issue ratings on the senior debt issued by Öresundsbro Konsortiet, which is guaranteed by the Danish government.
