American Airlines on Dec. 23, 2011, affirmed aircraft debt that collateralizes its 2009-1 Class A pass-through certificates. We are affirming our 'BBB-' rating on the certificates and removing the rating from CreditWatch. Our ratings on other pass-through certificates of American remain on CreditWatch with developing implications. On Jan. 9, 2012, Standard&Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'BBB-' rating on AMR Corp. (D/--) subsidiary American Airlines Inc.'s 2009-1A pass-through certificates. We removed the rating from CreditWatch, where we had placed it on Nov. 17, 2011. We are not surprised by American's affirmation, under Section 1110a of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, of the aircraft debt that collateralizes the 2009-1 pass-through certificates (enhanced equipment trust certificates).
