On Jan. 30, 2008, Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'A' rating on San Antonio, Texas-based AT&T Inc.'s $750 million of global notes due 2013, $750 million of global notes due 2038, and $2.5 billion of global notes due 2018. The outlook is stable. Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes. Total funded debt outstanding as of Dec. 31, 2007, pro forma for the new debt issues, was about $68 billion. The ratings reflect AT&T's (A/Stable/A-1) strong position in the fast-growing wireless sector, healthy financial performance of its wireline business, and modest financial profile.
