NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) April 17, 2008--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today affirmed its rating on San Antonio, Texas-based diversified telecommunications carrier AT&T Inc.'s 'A-1' commercial paper program, which has been raised to $15 billion from $12 billion. The program has $13 billion in committed backup credit facilities. The ratings for AT&T (A/Stable/A-1) reflect its strong position in the fast-growing wireless sector, healthy financial performance of its wireline business, and modest financial profile. AT&T is one of the largest communications companies in the U.S. and benefits from its scale as both a local telephone and wireless provider with a base of 62 million switched access lines and 70 million wireless subscribers.
