PARIS (S&P Global Ratings) Oct. 31, 2016--As a result of a misapplication of criteria in rating certain single-name credit-linked notes (CLNs), S&P Global Ratings today withdrew its ratings on 19 CLNs. The withdrawals of these issue ratings do not imply any change in the credit quality of the issuing bank or of the reference entities, whose other rated debt issues are not affected by today's actions. We had rated all the reviewed CLNs using only our methodology and assumptions for rating banks, but their risk profile called also for the application of our structured finance criteria for rating synthetic collateralized debt obligation (CDO) transactions in conjunction with our repackaged securities (repacks) criteria.
