S&P Global Ratings assigned its 'A-? long-term rating to the city of North Platte , Neb.'s estimated $2.5 million series 2025A combined utilities revenue bonds and $22.2 million series 2025B revenue bonds. The outlook is stable. ENGLEWOOD (S&P Global Ratings) July 17, 2025--S&P Global Ratings today took the rating actions listed above. Environmental risk factors are credit negative, highlighted by the city?s power supply from NPPD, which is composed of nearly 50% coal-fired resources. NPPD is exploring a strategy for migrating to less carbon-intensive dispatchable generation; however, we believe this process will translate to cost pressures and operational hurdles that would be passed down to the city.
