...September 16, 2021 CENTENNIAL (S&P Global Ratings) Sept. 16, 2021--S&P Global Ratings raised its long-term rating to 'A' from 'A-' on North Platte, Neb.'s general obligation bonds outstanding. The outlook is stable. "The rating action reflects our view of the city's improved financial position over the past few fiscal years, including positive operations throughout the pandemic," said S&P Global Ratings credit analyst Michael Parker. We analyzed North Platte's environmental, social, and governance risks relative to its economy, management, financial measures, and debt and liability profile. In terms of environmental risk, the area has some recent history of flooding, and the flooding has somewhat affected city operations in recent years, though the state's flood hazard mitigation efforts somewhat offset this. Governance and social risks are in line with the sector. RELATED RESEARCH Through The ESG Lens 2.0: A Deeper Dive Into U.S. Public Finance Credit Factors, April 28, 2020...
