...NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's) Sept. 1, 2004--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it assigned its 'AAAm' money market rating to the Government Money Market Master Portfolio, the Treasury Money Market Master Portfolio and respective feeder funds, the Barclays Global Investors Funds Government Money Market Fund, and the Barclays Global Investors Funds Treasury Money Market Fund. The ratings--the highest assigned to money market funds--are based on Standard & Poor's analysis of the funds' credit quality, market price exposure, and management. Commencing Sept. 1, 2004, both funds' investment objective is to provide as high a level of current income as is consistent with preservation of capital and liquidity. The feeder funds, which invest all assets in the Master Portfolios, have substantially identical investment objectives, strategies, and policies as the Master Portfolios.
