LONDON (Standard&Poor's) Oct. 10, 2011--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that the outcome of the general election in the Republic of Poland has no immediate effect on its sovereign rating (A-/Stable/A-2). Preliminary election results indicate that the incumbent center-right Civic Platform (PO) garnered 39% of votes, followed by the socially conservative Law and Justice Party, with 30%. Three additional parties also won seats in the new parliament: the rural Polish Peasants' Party (PSL), which, together with PO, forms part of the outgoing government; the center-left Democratic Left Alliance (SLD); and the newly formed liberal Palikot Movement (RP).
