NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) June 23, 2009--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services noted that Boeing Co. (A+/Watch Neg/A-1) today announced that it was delaying the first flight of its new 787 jetliner to address a structural problem that occurred during testing. However, this will not affect Standard&Poor's ratings on the company at this time, but the long-term ratings remain on CreditWatch, where we had placed them with negative implications on April 10, 2009. The 'A-1' short-term rating is not on CreditWatch. Boeing did not indicate if the problem would result in a further delay of the delivery of the first aircraft, currently scheduled for early 2010, or how much it would cost to resolve the problem. The original
