Abstract:

NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Sept. 19, 2003--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services today commented on UnitedHealth Group Inc. (A/Stable/A-1). UnitedHealth has announced that it plans to acquire Golden Rule Insurance Co. In response to this announcement, Standard&Poor's today placed its 'A+' ratings on Golden Rule on CreditWatch with negative implications because of capital concerns. However, Standard&Poor's is currently taking no rating action on UnitedHealth or its subsidiaries.
