About This Report

Abstract:

Corporate Credit Rating: AA/Stable/A-1+ Home Depot Inc.'s announcement that its fourth quarter 2000 projected results would be lower than previously forecasted has no impact on the company's credit rating or outlook. Home Depot expects earnings to be 20 cents per share versus previous forecasts of 25 cents per share due to the slowing U.S. economy and continuing lumber price deflation. Standard & Poor's had already factored the potential for a slowing U.S. economy and the volatility of lumber prices into the company's ratings. Standard & Poor's believes Home Depot's overall operations will continue to perform in line with the current ratings.
