Abstract:

Corporate Credit Rating: AA-/Stable/-- Standard & Poor's said today that Home Depot Inc.'s announcement that the second half of fiscal 2000 (year ending January 2001) projected results would be lower than previously forecasted has no impact on the company's corporate credit rating and outlook. Home Depot expects earnings per share and sales to be below previously projected levels due primarily to declining lumber prices that have negatively impacted lumber and other building materials products. Standard & Poor's has factored the volatility of lumber prices into its current ratings and believes the company's overall operations will continue to perform in line with the ratings.
