NY -- Standard&Poor's CreditWire 10/28/97 -- Standard&Poor's today assigned its double-`A' rating to Wyckoff Township, N.J.'s G.O. bonds series 1997 dated Oct. 20, 1997 due May 1, 2007. The bonds are scheduled to sell Oct. 28, 1997. Standard&Poor's affirmed its double-`A' rating on the township's outstanding G.O. bonds. The rating reflects: -- A stable local economy characterized by consistent but low growth in assessed valuation; -- Strong finances; and -- Very low debt service burden. The township is located in the northwestern part of affluent Bergen County. Wyckoff's proximity to New York City, at approximately 24 miles from New York City, and its transportation access to a wider metropolitan economy makes the town attractive
