DALLAS (Standard&Poor's) Dec. 2, 2013--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services raised its long-term rating to 'A+' from 'A' on Wamego, Kan.'s existing general obligation (GO) debt, based on our recently released local GO criteria. The outlook is stable. At the same time, Standard&Poor's assigned its 'A+' rating and stable outlook to the Wamego Public Building Commission, Kan.'s series 2013 revenue refunding bonds, supported by Wamego. "We view the city's financial position as consistently strong, specifically it's very strong budgetary flexibility and liquidity," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst Emmanuelle Lawrence.
