...October 25, 2022 NEW YORK (S&P Global Ratings) Oct. 25, 2022--S&P Global Ratings today said it assigned its 'A+' debt rating to UnitedHealth Group Inc.'s (UNH) proposed $8 billion to $9 billion in fixed-rate senior unsecured notes to be issued in seven tranches. The debt issuance does not affect our 'A+' long-term issuer credit rating on UNH. On Oct. 3, 2022, the company closed on its acquisition of Change Healthcare (CHNG) after gaining legal approval to proceed, proving successful in litigation over antitrust concerns with the U.S. Department of Justice. Initially, UNH funded $9.5 billion of the $14.1 billion CHNG acquisition in the short-term debt markets, with the remainder funded through parent and unrestricted cash as well as the divestiture proceeds from CHNG's payment integrity business.
