NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Feb. 7, 2002--Standard&Poor's today upgraded its long-term foreign currency sovereign credit rating on the United Mexican States to triple-'B'-minus, an investment-grade rating, and upgraded other ratings as follows: -- The long-term local currency sovereign credit rating was upgraded to single-'A'-minus from triple-'B' plus; -- The long-term foreign currency sovereign credit rating was upgraded to triple-'B'-minus from double-'B' plus; and -- The short-term foreign currency sovereign credit rating was upgraded to 'A-3' from single-'B'.
