Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA' long-term rating to Westfield, Mass.' general obligation (GO) state-qualified municipal purpose loan of series 2014 bonds and its 'SP-1+' short-term rating to the city's 2014 bond anticipation notes (BANs). At the same time, we affirmed our 'AA' underlying rating (SPUR) on the city's outstanding GO debt. The outlook is stable. A pledge of the city's full faith and credit and resources secures the bonds. The series 2014 bonds are further supported by the commonwealth's Chapter 44A Qualified Bond Act (Massachusetts General Law), which Standard&Poor's rates 'AA/Stable'.
