Standard&Poor's Ratings Services has assigned its 'AA+' long-term rating to Watertown, Mass.' series 2012 general obligation (GO) municipal-purpose loan bonds and affirmed its 'AA+' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR) on the town's existing GO parity debt. The outlook is stable. Standard&Poor's also assigned its 'SP-1+' short-term rating to the town's GO bond anticipation notes (BANs), series 2012. The BANs are payable June 26, 2013. The short-term note rating reflects the town's low market risk profile score based on our criteria.
