Standard&Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA' long-term rating to Sioux City, Iowa's series 2012A general obligation (GO) bonds and series 2012B taxable GO bonds. At the same time, Standard&Poor's affirmed its 'AA' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR) on the city's GO bonds. The outlook on all bond ratings is stable. The rating reflects our view of the city's: Position as a regional economic and employment center; Adequate income levels and market value per capita; Very strong reserves and a history of operating surpluses; and Low to moderate overall debt burden coupled with rapid principal amortization. The bonds are secured by the city's unlimited-tax GO pledge. Series 2012A bond proceeds will be used to fund various
