The ratings on multilateral lending institution Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) reflect S&P Global Ratings' assessment of NIB's very strong business profile and extremely strong financial profile. Sound core earnings in 2015, combined with the sustained robust credit quality of its growing loan book, have provided for an extremely strong capital position, which underpins our assessment of its stand-alone credit profile (SACP) at 'aaa'. Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland founded NIB as the Nordic countries' joint international financial institution in 1975.
